Cremation

Traditional or Green?

Today, families have more choices than ever before.

At Inclusive Funeral Care, about half of the families we serve choose traditional flame cremation, while the other half choose green cremation (also known as aquamation or water cremation). Neither option is better than the other. They simply reflect different values, preferences, and priorities. No matter which you choose, your family may be present for the cremation if witnessing the process is important to you.

Traditional Flame Cremation

Traditional cremation has been practiced for thousands of years and remains the most common form of cremation in the United States. Modern flame cremation uses carefully controlled heat to respectfully return the body to its natural elements. The cremation process typically takes between two and five hours, depending on factors such as body size and the type of cremation container selected. Families who choose traditional cremation with Inclusive Funeral Care spend $2,265 for our professional services, which includes the actual cremation.

Green Cremation (Water Cremation)

Green cremation—also known as aquamation, flameless cremation, alkaline hydrolysis, or resomation offers a gentle alternative to traditional flame cremation. Using warm water, gentle circulation, and an alkaline solution, the body is naturally reduced to its basic elements in a process that mirrors what occurs in nature over time. Green cremation uses approximately 90% less energy than traditional flame cremation and has become an increasingly popular choice for families seeking a more environmentally conscious option.

Families who choose green cremation with Inclusive Funeral Care spend $2,550 for our professional services, which includes the actual green cremation.
